Camps, private skills, player development.
Vanguard Hockey International’s sole purpose is player development. Based in Reno, NV, the program delivers hockey camps and private skills training — on the ice and off it — for youth through NHL and Olympic levels.
Every Vanguard camp pairs on-ice training with off-ice development and video work. Private skills training is available by inquiry, including when camp dates are not on the calendar. Founder Jeff Lobman has spent 10 years as a private skills coach; Niclas Lucenius coaches alongside him.
Two ways to do the work.
Hockey camps
A concentrated block — typically a handful of days — of on-ice training, off-ice development, and video work. Past camps have been hosted at South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena and Lempäälän Jäähalli in Finland, for ages 8U–18U.
Private skills training
Ongoing development by inquiry. Jeff Lobman has been a private skills coach for 10 years, working with players from beginner to NCAA, professional, and Olympic levels. Ask about availability between camps.
Youth hockey to the NHL and Olympics.
Youth hockey
Past Vanguard camps have been offered for ages 8U–18U. The program is built to help young players become the best they can be on and off the ice.
Travel, rec, prep & university
Not every player is chasing the NHL. Some want a prep or university team; others want to be their best on a local travel or recreational team. Vanguard works with all of those mindsets.
High-performance
Jeff Lobman has coached players from beginner to NCAA, professional, and Olympic levels. Niclas Lucenius brings nearly 20 years of pro hockey, including Liiga, the KHL, and DEL.
